Heather knows a good thing when she sees it. You could almost say "quality" is her middle name (or more accurately, at the center of her job description). And, she'll tell you that quality is a performance fundamental at Timken.

"Quality is at the heart of everything I do. My core responsibility is to cost-effectively salvage steel that does not meet Timken's stringent clean-steel standards without sacrificing quality. It's one way that I contribute to the company's key initiatives on a daily basis."

While quality is Heather's primary duty, she knows achieving it is a team effort. "Because quality is a company-wide focus, every associate is accountable for it. My work regularly brings me into contact with a diverse group of associates from manufacturing and our metallurgical lab. Plus, through my Lean 6 Sigma training, I also get to tackle complex business issues with other members of a cross-functional team.”
