Overachievers Welcome
Sandy
Automotive Quality Principal–Metallurgy
Sandy’s background says quite a bit about him. He has bachelors' degrees in economics, metallurgical engineering and materials science from Carnegie Mellon University. He’s been a director at special alloy casting company, and president of an Engineering Consulting firm and an Advanced Materials Marketing company. He’s what some would call an overachiever, and that helps him fit in just fine as a metallurgy expert at Timken.
"My job is never boring or routine. This position taxes my abilities and expands my life experience. I manage numerous projects and metallurgical/heat-treat initiatives globally and travel frequently. My work regularly brings me in contact with associates at all levels of the company all over the world."
He tells other associates to be ready to seek new opportunities and further educate themselves at Timken. And, because of the rapidly changing pace of business on a global scale, he has one more piece of advice: "Let quality be the cornerstone."
