When a Greer, S.C., family needed a home, associates from the Timken Technology Center in Greenville, S.C., volunteered their time, skill and muscle to help build one with Habitat for Humanity.
In 2007, associates installed roofing, painted, and hung siding. In addition, the Timken Charitable Trust donated $26,000 toward construction materials, covering half the cost of the home. Remaining funds were raised by Coldwell Banker Caine, which also shared construction duties.
While this project was a first for the team from Timken’s recently opened Greenville facility, Timken has been active with other Habitat for Humanity projects for the past 20 years.
